The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has impounded 12 trucks containing different types of solid minerals mined without licence. The anti-graft agency also arrested 41 suspected illegal miners operating on different mining fields in the State. The Western Nigeria Security Network (codenamed Amotekun) has arrested 149 suspected criminals at different black spots within three local government areas of Ondo State. Commander of Amotekun in Ondo State, Adetunji Adeleye, made the disclosure on Tuesday while parading the suspects before journalists. He said that the majority of the suspects claimed that they came into the state as hunters. Mr Adeleye said that the suspects were arrested with guns, bags of Indian hemp and cutlasses. The Anambra State Police Command has declared one inspector, Audu Omadefu, wanted for murder. This was revealed in a press release issued by the command’s spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, on Tuesday. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested the General Overseer of Faith On The Rock Ministry International, Apostle Theophilus Oloche Ebonyi, for defrauding church members and other Nigerians using fake grants from the Ford Foundation to the tune of N1, 319,040,274.31 (One billion three hundred and nineteen million, forty thousand, two hundred and seventy-four naira, thirty-one kobo).
