EFCC arraigns three youths for internet fraud in Uyo

Justice Chigozie Sergius Onah of the Federal High Court sitting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State has convicted and sentenced three internet fraudsters to different jail terms for offences bordering on criminal impersonation, internet fraud and possession of fraudulent documents. The convicts Abraham Itoro Sunday, Ezea Chidera Charles and Udoh Christopher Gabriel were jailed on Thursday, February 1, 2024, upon their arraignment by the Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on one-count separate charge bordering on cybercrimes. The Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre has apprehended a mother and her daughter over their alleged involvement in a romance scam that reportedly defrauded a Malta-based victim of more than N18m.

The Anambra State Police Command has declared one inspector, Audu Omadefu, wanted for murder. This was revealed in a press release issued by the command’s spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, on Tuesday. Ikenga requested that members of the public with information on his whereabouts contact the nearest local station. Jimi Solanke, a veteran actor, folk singer, and storyteller, has died. The great poet and playwright passed away on Monday at the age of 81. NDLEA nabs Canada-based nurse, two businessmen for drug trafficking

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) apprehended massive consignments of Ghanaian Loud trafficked into Lagos in two trucks and a J5 bus, totaling 14, 524.8 kilogrammes.
