The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has adjusted upwards it’s forecast for Nigeria’s economic growth for the year 2024 to 3.3 percent. This revision was announced in the IMF’s World Economic Outlook for April, which was released on Tuesday during the 2024 Spring Meetings of the World Bank and IMF in Washington, United States. Men of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested a 24-year-old suspect, Mmaduabuchi Okonkwo, for allegedly possessing and transacting in counterfeit naira notes. This was disclosed in a statement posted on the command’s X handle by the command’s spokesperson , DSP Daniel Ndukwe. The air component of Operation Hadarin Kai (OPHK) has executed a precision airstrike on the hideouts of ISWAP terrorists, killing over 30 of their fighters within Kolleram village along the shores of Lake Chad. Justice Jude Onwueguzie of the Federal High Court in Apo, Abuja on Monday, April 15, 2024, dismissed a motion raised by former Minister of Power and Steel, Olu Agunloye challenging the powers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to prosecute him. Everton have filed a formal appeal against a two-point deduction slammed on the club for breaching Premier League financial regulations, reports said on Monday. The club admitted breaching profitability and sustainability rules (PSR) for permitted losses by £16.6 million ($20.7 million) for the assessment period ending with the 2022/23 season. Nigeria’s headline inflation rate increased to 33.20 per cent in March 2024, the National Bureau of Statistics said.On a month-on-month basis, the headline inflation rate for March 2024 was 3.02 per cent, a decrease of 0.10 per cent from February 2024, when it was 3.12 percent.
