Nigeria’s headline inflation rate dropped to 33.2 per cent for the month of August 2024, according to the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics. Devastating rains broke walls at a jail in Maiduguri, northeastern Nigeria, early last week, allowing 281 prisoners to escape, officials said on Sunday.
