The Nasarawa State Police Command says it has arrested one Khadija Aliyu for allegedly stealing a seven-day-old baby girl during a naming ceremony in the Keffi area of the state. This is just as the command also arrested an ex-convict, Hussaini Mohammed, for allegedly stealing motorcycles in the same area. The Ministry of Education has said it is working to prevent another strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). The Director of Press in the ministry, Folasade Biriowo, stated this in an interview with a news platform (not Chronicle NG) in Abuja on Sunday. “I can assure you that everything is being done to prevent the strike from happening. The minister has teams working already so I can give you that assurance,” Biriowo said. A tanker fire near Okaki Junction at the Akenfa axis of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital, has destroyed shops and homes, but no life was lost in the inferno. In an ongoing trial of former Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam, at the Federal High Court, Maitama, Abuja, a key witness has testified to converting and delivering $15.8 million in cash to the ex-governor at his residence.
