Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, a Yoruba Nation activist, has refuted claims that a Lagos Federal High Court has issued an arrest warrant against him due to an alleged breach of contract. Ighoho, in a statement dated October 23, 2024, issued by his lawyer, Akinlolu Oyebamiji, a principal partner at AOC Solicitors & Attorneys, described a publication by Citynewsng as false and intended to damage his reputation. The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has said there is no going back on the planned October 26, 2024, Local Government election in the state. Roberto Mancini has left his role as coach of Saudi Arabia after his contract was ended by mutual agreement, the national team announced on Thursday. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) on Thursday confirmed that three bodies have been recovered in a helicopter crash in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The oil company said that eight persons (6 passengers and 2 crew members) were aboard the helicopter operated by East Winds Aviation. “On the 24th of October 2024, about 11:22am, we lost contact with the Helicopter – Register Number: 5NBQG, engaged by NNPC Limited, that took off from Port Harcourt NAF Base en route the FPSO – NUIMS ANTAN. The Government of Canada has announced measures to tackle population growth by lowering the number of permanent residents coming to the country. The Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Marc Miller, on Thursday, announced that rather than the 500,000 yearly slots for permanent residents, the country would be lowering the numbers for the next three years. It said the new measure would come into effect from 2025. According to him, the country will welcome 395,000 permanent residents in 2025; 380,000 in 2026, and 365,000 in 2027.
