Abia Police Command has arrested four persons in connection with the killing of a police inspector, Princewill Divine. Mrs Janet Agbede, the state’s Commissioner of Police, disclosed this while briefing newsmen in Umuahia on Friday. Agbede said that the late Divine was among the five Police Mobile Force personnel attached to 28 and 55 squadrons who were attacked on September 7, at Okagwe Junction, Ohafia. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed that at least 5,141 card readers were burnt as fire gutted the commission’s head office in Akure, Ondo State capital. PREMIUM TIMES reported that the fire which broke out at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, gutted the container housing smart card readers for the October 10 governorship election. The music producers are John Obot and Odok Valentine. Others are; Emdiong Iwoenang ; Christian Alvan Okechukwu, Innocent Japhet and Edem Uwana. The Kaduna State House of Assembly has approved a bill that would require rape convicts to be castrated. The council posted on its Twitter account on Thursday that the bill was approved on Wednesday at a parliamentary session. Wife of Kaduna State Governor Hadiza El-Rufai had on Monday visited the assembly to advocate for law castrating and executing rapists.
