Japan will host the Club World Cup in its existing format in late 2021, FIFA president Gianni Infantino announced on Friday, with his expanded version of the tournament still on hold for now after being postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. China has planted its flag on the Moon, more than 50 years after the US first planted the Stars and Stripes there. The pictures from China’s National Space Administration show the five-starred Red Flag holding still on the windless lunar surface. They were taken by a camera on the Chang’e-5 space probe before it left the Moon with rock samples on Thursday. Fifteen protesters who suffered gunshot wounds during the #EndSARS protests in Lagos have visited the Lagos State Court of Arbitration and Mediation in Lekki, venue of the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry and Restitution for Victims of SARS related abuses and other matters. 14 of them were said to have been shot at Lekki Toll Gate on the evening of October 20, while one was said to have been shot Ojodu Berger. The second prosecution witness, PW2, Abdulrahman Arabo, in the ongoing trial of Paul Usoro, SAN, a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, for alleged N1.4bn fraud, on Wednesday 3, 2020, told Justice Rilwan Aikawa of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos how the defendant received a sum of N1.1bn from the Akwa-Ibom State government. The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has applied to withdraw a suit seeking to stop Judicial Panels of Inquiry investigating police brutality and human rights abuses by police officials and officers of disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS). The suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/1492/2020 was filed on November 9, 2020 by the NPF, through its lawyer, O. M. Atoyebi (SAN). The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu says he is unaware of a suit filed on behalf of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) seeking to halt the Judicial Panel of Inquiry set up by state governors to probe police brutality.
