At least 27 state governments forced the Federal Government to agree to the reopening of schools on Monday, it was learnt on Thursday. About 18 persons, including four nursing mothers and their babies, have been reported kidnapped in Mando village of Birnin Gwari Local Govermment Area of Kaduna State. Oyo State Security Network Agency codenamed Amotekun has dismissed one of its operatives Kazeem Afolabi for killing a 21-year-old man in Ibadan, Oyo State. Commandant of the agency Col. Olayanju Olayinka (retd) said in a statement yesterday that the corps took the decision after investigation showed that Afolabi shot the victim against Amotekun’s protocols. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 1,479 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Thursday. The 1,479 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases to 105,478. The NCDC also announced the discharge of 1,275 patients from isolation centers across the country with 23 new deaths reported.
