ARISE News has announced that political analyst Anthony Kila has been suspended from its platforms with immediate effect after allegations surfaced that he falsified his academic credentials.
The television network stated that the decision came after an investigative report by Premium Times, which cast doubt on Kila’s claim to a professorial title and later reported inconsistencies in the bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and professorial qualifications he claimed to hold.
In a statement released by its Editorial Board on Tuesday via its official X handle, ARISE News said it reached out to Kila on October 3, 2026, to get his response to the allegations, but he asked for more time to reply.
The network noted that 10 days after the allegations were brought to his attention, he had still not responded.
The organization said it had noted the findings of the Premium Times investigation and would no longer feature Kila on any of its platforms, whether now or in the future.
“Following claims that Anthony Kila falsified his entire academic credentials, we contacted Mr. Kila on 03 October, 2026, with the allegations. He asked for more time to respond to the claims. He has not responded 10 days after,” the statement read.
ARISE News stated that the allegations had grown more serious, rendering it untenable for Kila to keep appearing on its platform.
The network further noted that it had no knowledge of the allegations at the time Kila featured on its programs as a freelance political analyst.
“ARISE News was unaware of these allegations at the time Anthony Kila appeared on our platform, and as we take matters of credibility and integrity extremely seriously,” the statement added.
