The Nigeria police has served invitations to residents of Ketu-Yewa speaking villages in Yewa North Area of Ogun State asking them to come to the Force Headquarters in Abuja for interrogation. This comes after soldiers escorted Fulani herdsmen to the villages on December 19, 2020 and flogged many of the residents for refusing to allow the herdsmen to graze their cattle on their farmlands. The ECOWAS Court of Justice, Abuja will on April 22, 2021 deliver judgment in a case on killings, raping, maiming of Nigerians and other residents, and destruction of property across Nigeria by suspected herdsmen. The court disclosed this after it heard arguments in the case brought by Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project against the Federal Government on Friday. At least nineteen people have been killed and several others injured in two separate attacks by bandits in Birnin Gwari and Kajuru Local Government areas of Kaduna State. Confirming the incident, the Kaduna State Commissioner for internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, says fourteen people were killed on Saturday by armed bandits at Kutemeshi village in Birnin Gwari and five others killed at Kujeni village in Kajuru on the same day, while several others were left with bullet wounds. The World Health Organisation (WHO) Regional Office for Africa in Brazzaville, Congo, says there are over 93,000 deaths of COVID-19 recorded on the African continent. The UN health agency gave the update on its regional official Twitter on Friday.
