The United Nations plans to release $15 million from its emergency relief fund to help fight the new outbreaks of Ebola in Guinea and Congo, according to U.N. humanitarian chief, Mark Lowcock. President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has condemned the savage attack on Wednesday on Government Science College, Kagara in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State in which some staff and students of the school were abducted. The Senate on Wednesday received the 2021 budget proposal for the Nigeria Police Trust Fund transmitted to it by President Muhammadu Buhari for consideration and passage. The President’s request for the Upper Chamber to consider the Police Trust Fund budget was contained in a letter which accompanied the proposal, and read during plenary by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan. A U.S. court has sentenced Obinwanne Okeke also known as Invictus Obi to 10 years in prison. Okeke was sentenced for his involvement in a computer-based intrusion fraud scheme that caused approximately $11 million in known losses to his victims. According to court documents, the 33-year-old operated a group of companies known as the Invictus Group based in Nigeria and elsewhere. Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has officially been admitted into the All Progressives Congress (APC) after being registered as a member of the party in the ongoing registration and revalidation exercise. President Muhammadu Buhari has on Wednesday ordered a military operation to rescue hundreds of schoolboys abducted in Niger state by suspected bandits.
