By Fola Ademosu The Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry has paid N10 million compensation to Adebayo Abayomi whose deceased mother was killed by police. Abayomi’s mother, Kudirat Abayomi, was a victim of extrajudicial killing in the state. The panel chairperson, Doris Okuwobi, said it finds that the deceased’s mother Kudirat Abayomi was extra-judicially killed by an officer of the Nigeria Police Force. She also said the police failed to offer first aid to the victim when she was shot. The Panel also compensated Hannah Olugbodi. She was given N10 million. Chronicle NG sources said the panel had contacted victims who are equally present at its ongoing proceedings. Members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife chapter, yesterday protested non-payment of their allowances.
