The Lagos State Government has announced that there will be a total closure of the Third Mainland Bridge from midnight of Friday, February 26 till midnight of Saturday, February 27. The Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Frederic Oladeinde, says the 24-hour closure would enable the contractors move the equipment used during the rehabilitation process off the bridge completely to allow both the Oworonshoki and Adeniji bound lanes to open fully to traffic. A policeman in Lagos has had a brush with death this morning as a driver rammed him off a bridge in a bid to evade arrest. In a viral video that surfaced online today, a driver of a Toyota SUV was seen to have rammed the policeman off a bridge, while trying to evade arrest. Prof. Itse Sagay has claimed that Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), will not allow new EFCC chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, to succeed. The father of Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker drowned in a lake near his holiday home in southern Brazil on Wednesday, local police said. Bandits and criminals have killed many people, kidnapped some others and stole livestock in attacks on communities in Kaduna and Niger states.
