The Insight by Lateef Adewole “Prof. Aliyu Muhammed spent 25 days with bandits before a ransom was paid for his release, in Zaria. He revealed how the bandits grisly fed human corpses to their Dogs & other horrors. Those who want to defend these atrocities should please reserve a space in their hearts for the victims & their families.” – Sen. Shehu Sani The Nigerian situation is burdensome and becoming overwhelming for some of us who take issues that border on the country to heart. We tend to overthink the challenges facing us as a people and constantly think, meditate…

Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State on Sunday said the state government is negotiating with abductors of Government Girls Science Secondary School, Jangebe. Protesters marched in Myanmar on Monday in defiance of a crackdown by security forces that killed at least 18 people a day earlier, as calls grew for a more united international response after the worst violence since a coup one month ago. Police with water cannon and military vehicles were mobilised at protest hotspots in Yangon on Monday,…

Donald Trump has said that he might run for president again, delighting his supporters at a speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference — his first public appearance since leaving the White House last month. The former president sent audience members at the CPAC event in Florida into raptures with a typically combative speech, much of which repeated material he used on the campaign stump last year. He promised not to divide the Republican party by setting up his own political movement, and suggested he could seek the party’s nomination for president again in 2024. Trump said: “Biden has failed…
The Coalition of Civil society organisations on Sunday, has linked the monumental fraud perpetrated by former governor of Zamfara state, Abdulaziz Yari; to the high level of insecurity in the state. Leicester’s increasingly forlorn-looking pursuit of Premier League leaders Manchester City suffered a big blow as Arsenal came from behind to claim an impressive victory at the King Power Stadium. On a miserable afternoon at the end of a dire week for the Foxes, they also had influential winger Harvey Barnes carried off on a stretcher with his leg in a brace to add to their already considerable injury problems. Things had started well for the hosts, who were given an early tonic for their midweek Europa League exit as Youri Tielemens was allowed to run unchecked down the right before…
