Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu has been detained by the Department of State Security Services ahead of his trial on July 26 and 27. He was intercepted on June 27. Kanu is expected to be re-arraigned before the Federal High Court for the continuation of his trial. The Senate has passed the sum of N329,963,491,523 billion as Statutory budget for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for the year 2021. The passage came after the upper chamber considered the report of the Committee on Federal Capital Territory on the FCT Appropriation Bill, 2021. Chairman of the Committee, Senator Abubakar Kyari (APC, Borno North), said from the projected revenue of N329,963,491,523, the sum of N74,323,382,813 is Personnel Costs; N58,728,614,466 is for Overheads; and N196,911,494,243 is for Capital Projects.
