Ringim of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos on Monday, adjourned till October 7, 2021 to hear a motion filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, seeking the final forfeiture of the $5.78million and N2.4billion linked to a former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan. The EFCC had filed an application for the forfeiture of the sums of money warehoused in Skye Bank Plc and Ecobank Plc, respectively in 2017 before Justice Mojisola Olatoregun. The Lagos House of Assembly on Monday ordered Local Government councils and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state to desist from extorting and harrassing operators of courier and logistics services in the state. A Lagos Federal High Court, has fixed October 28, 2021, for the commencement of trial of a Nigeria businessman, Kenneth Ndubuisi Amadi, who is facing a five-count charge of alleged conspiracy and fraud of N2.9 billion.
