President Muhammadu Buhari has pledged to increase the budget for the education sector by as much as 50 percent over the next two years. Ten Nigerian athletes have been banned from the ongoing Tokyo Olympic games. The Atheletics Integrity Unit, AIU (an independent regulatory body that handles doping and non-doping issues) revealed this on Wednesday. According to the directive by the AIU, eighteen athletes were ineligible to participate in the Olympics. Unfortunately, ten of them were Nigerians. Bandits have released the sister of late Major General Hassan Ahmed who was murdered on July 15 in Abuja. Chronicle NG reported how the bandits waylaid and killed the former provost of Nigerian Army. Sabina, the late General’s sister was travelling with him when she was killed. She, being thought to be his wife was kidnapped after the murder.
