A 15-year-old girl has been hit by a stray bullet at a marriage ceremony in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state. The incident which occurred on Saturday was as a result of an accidental discharge by an official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) drafted to provide security at the event. Gunmen strike Benue again, kill two, abduct 14 passengers

Nine persons have been killed by armed bandits in Sokoto state on Saturday. The premeditated attacks were carried out in Bejingo, Dantudu and Tulutu cillages in Birjin ward, Goronyo Local Government Area of the state. According to eyewitnesses, eight men and one woman were killed in the attacks while many others were injured.
