A 15-year-old girl has been hit by a stray bullet at a marriage ceremony in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state. The incident which occurred on Saturday was as a result of an accidental discharge by an official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) drafted to provide security at the event. Nine persons have been killed by armed bandits in Sokoto state on Saturday. The premeditated attacks were carried out in Bejingo, Dantudu and Tulutu cillages in Birjin ward, Goronyo Local Government Area of the state. According to eyewitnesses, eight men and one woman were killed in the attacks while many others were injured. The bandits reportedly took away cattle, goats and sheep, forcing the villagers to seek refuge in neighboring communities. At least 22 persons have lost their lives while 14 others are in critical condition after a mob of irate youths attacked a Muslim convoy in Plateau state.
