Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state on Monday spear-headed a protests against the sit-at-home order by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Residents who were too frightened of the group, complied with the order based on past experiences with the deadly group. The streets in Anambra state were deserted as usual on Monday, which spurred the governor to lead a protest against the order, urging residents to return to their businesses. Monsurat Ojuade was killed by a police officer during a raid on their house on Saturday night

The yet-to-be-identified police officer who killed a lady during a raid in the Ijeshatedo area of Lagos State, has been arrested by the state’s Police Command. Although the identity of the suspect was not revealed, the Lagos state Police command disclosed that he had been apprehended and detained pending further investigation. Three suspects in the kidnapping of Nigerian Navy Lieutenant Cynthia Akor have been apprehended by Naval Unit operatives in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

Gunmen kill 6, injures 8 in Plateau attack

Twelve security operatives have been killed after an attack by bandits on a military base in Mutumji, Zamfara state on Saturday. According to AFP, security sources revealed that the bandits stole weapons after the attack and also set houses on fire. A group of armed men have chased away secondary school students who were about to write their West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in Imo state. Man returns home after 38 years in prison

Not less than 240 prisoners have escaped after an attack on the Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC) in Kabba, Kogi State by unidentified armed men. The attack which took place around midnight in Sunday, was confirmed by the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) spokesman, Mr Francis Enobore, who issued a circular notifying the public on the latest development on Monday. The 75 students who were abducted from a scondary school in Zamfara state have regained their freedom after 12 days in captivity. The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) disclosed the latest development on Sunday night. The victims, who were students of Government Day Secondary School, Kaya, in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State were abducted on September 1, 2021.
