Nigerian troops have foiled an attack by the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) on surrendered Boko Haram members and their families in Damboa, Borno state. The National Association of Resident Doctors, NARD, on Monday suspended its 63-day old industrial action, the president of the association said after a National Executive Council resolution, NEC. The National President of NARD, Dr Godiya Ishaya said the suspension will take effect on Wednesday, 6th October, 2021. He said the decision to suspend the strike was reached by NEC after a thorough review of the progress the government had made on their demands. Gunmen have reportedly kidnapped a lecturer at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, Akoko, AAUA, Ondo state. The academic, Mayowa David Adinlewa was abducted during the weekend along Akure-Ikere-Ekiti road. The abductors have contacted the lecturer’s brother, Toyin, demanding for N10 million ransom.
