Teenage midfielder Pedri has agreed a contract extension with Barcelona which includes a 1bn euro (£846m) release clause, the club has announced. Nigeria’s military has announced the death of Abu Musab al-Barnawi, the head of the West African branch of the Islamic State group (ISWAP). “He is dead and remains dead,” said Chief of Defence Staff General Lucky Irabor. Gen Irabor did not give any details of the circumstances of Barnawi’s death, which was first reported in September. The Islamic State West Africa Province (Iswap) has not commented on the claims. Two internet fraudsters, Igboin Alex and Osagie Pius Ekiende , have been convicted by Justice S. M. Shuaibu of the Federal High Court sitting in Benin City , Edo State on one count charge each for offences bordering on impersonation and obtaining by false pretence. A 64-year-old man has reportedly raped a six-year-old girl in Ondo state. Th suspect, Ajayi Awe, who was revealed to be a grandfather allegedly defiled the minor in his home at B/98 Daja Ajowa-Akoko, in Akoko North West Local Government Area of the State.
