The Police in Kano are on the trail of a runaway teenage wife, who allegedly poisoned her husband, Umar Sani, to death on Thursday. Zimbabwe’s anti-corruption agency is investigating whether the former First Lady Grace Mugabe fraudulently obtained a doctorate. Lecturers at the University of Zimbabwe filed a petition last week asking to investigate. She was awarded the PhD just months after enrolling at university in 2014 even though doctorates typically require years of full-time research. Mrs Mugabe has previously defended her academic record. The Katsina State Police Command says it recorded 210 cases of rape and unnatural acts in the state in 2017. The command’s spokesman, DSP Isa Gambo, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Katsina that 275 persons allegedly involved in the various rape cases were arrested during the period. He said 207 of the cases were in court, with three still under investigation. The Saudi Arabia government has announced that the Sports stadiums in the country will open their doors to women to attend football matches for the first time ever on Friday.
