The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has announced a 13-member Task Force to oversee and deliver the Audience Measurement Service on Nigeria media platforms. In a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday, the Minister said the approval followed the recommendation of the Task Force’s membership by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) and the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON). He directed the NBC and APCON to collaborate to set a framework for the operations and activities of the Task Force, in order to ensure that the Audience Measurement Service comes into effect in the first quarter of 2022.…

The Danish military says the crew of one of its warships operating off West Africa have killed four pirates in a gun battle. A statement said the frigate Esbern Snare accompanied by a helicopter approached a speeding motorboat south of Nigeria on Wednesday. A bill seeking to prohibit the importation of fake goods into Nigeria on Wednesday scaled second reading in the Senate. Such fake goods targeted by the bill are unauthorized or illegally manufactured, reproduced, altered or distributed products associated with abuse of recognized intellectual property rights, such as trademark, patents, design or copyright in goods.
