A woman whose name was given as Chinaza Ukaonu, has been arrested by the Imo state police command alongside two nurses for allegedly selling her baby for N500,000. The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), says no tariff increase has been approved by the commission yet. In a statement, Mr Usman Arabi, NERC’s General Manager, Public Affairs, however, in a statement on Friday in Abuja said it was still consulting with stakeholders. Bello Matawalle, governor of Zamfara, says the establishment of Ruga settlement in states across Nigeria will put an end to banditry among herders in the country. Flood triggered by days of incessant rainfall has damaged the Guri-Adyani and Guri-Dolanzugo roads in Guri Local Government Area of Jigawa, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports. The roads, according to Alhaji Sanusi Doro, the area’s information officer, are critical for the transportation of rice, sesame, watermelon and onions to the markets. Prince Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye on Friday became the 33rd Olowo of Owo Kingdom after an elaborate installation rites. The traditional rites, which started dawn, was attended by hundreds of residents of the town and well wishers.
