President Muhammadu Buhari will speak at the seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7) holding in Yokohama from August 28-30, 2019. A woman whose name was given as Chinaza Ukaonu, has been arrested by the Imo state police command alongside two nurses for allegedly selling her baby for N500,000. The Imo state police public Relation Officer, PPRO, Orlando Ikeokwu, who confirmed this yesterday in Owerri, said that the arrest of the woman was made possible by her husband, Promise Ukaonu, who reported the wife to the police, suspecting that the wife was telling him lies about the whereabouts of their child. The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), says no tariff increase has been approved by the commission yet. In a statement, Mr Usman Arabi, NERC’s General Manager, Public Affairs, however,  in a statement on Friday in Abuja said it was still consulting with stakeholders. Bello Matawalle, governor of Zamfara, says the establishment of Ruga settlement in states across Nigeria will put an end to banditry among herders in the country. Mutawalle, who spoke in an interview with Osasu Igbinedion on The Osasu Show, said if social amenities are provided for the herdsmen, they will remain at one place and “they don’t have to go round Nigeria to cause havoc”. Flood triggered by days of incessant rainfall has damaged the Guri-Adyani and Guri-Dolanzugo roads in Guri Local Government Area of Jigawa, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports. The roads, according to Alhaji Sanusi Doro, the area’s information officer, are critical for the transportation of rice, sesame, watermelon and onions to the markets. Doro, in a statement on Saturday in Guri, said that the damage had cut off residents of Adyani and Dolanzugo from Guri town, the local government headquarters. The General Manager, Kwara State Television Authority, Abdulfatai Adebowale has been arrested by the Ilorin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over allegations of Land fraud. Prince Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye on Friday became the 33rd Olowo of Owo Kingdom after an elaborate installation rites. The traditional rites, which started dawn, was attended by hundreds of residents of the town and well wishers.
