Irked by the ugly pattern of supposed ritual killings of women in hotels in Port Harcourt,  Rivers Female Youths on Friday protested to the State Police Command, demanding  stronger measures  to protect women. The Rivers Female Youths who displayed  placards with different inscriptions decried the obvious  targeting of women by suspected serial killers operating in the state. O Akanbi was thrown into confusion on Thursday, September, 11, 2019 as one of the judges of the three man panel, Justice Hafizu Tahir abandoned sitting on the Ikot Ekpene/Essien Udim/Obot Akara federal Constituency seat. Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State on Thursday said that the state government would increase the funding of education to tackle increasing number of out-of-school children. Ganduje said during the official flag-off of free and compulsory basic and secondary education in Kano, that the government would fund free and compulsory basic education with vigour. He said that there are over eight million out-of-school children in Nigeria with one million of them from Kano State alone. “We have earmarked N2.4 billion for a year for the funding of 1,180 primary and secondary schools with total of 834,366 pupils,” he said. ‎…

The South Africa Chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari on his victory at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal and tasked the President on service delivery to the people. Recall that the tribunal on Wednesday dismissed the petition by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, challenging Buhari’s victory in the Feb. 23 election. President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to leave Abuja on Saturday to attend the one-day Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, Heads of State and Government Extraordinary Summit on Counter-Terrorism, in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The Federal Government has directed telecommunication operators, through the Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) to block about 9.2 million SIM cards without proper registration. The directive followed the submission of the short-term performance by the NCC as directed by the Minister of Communications Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami. Recall that Pantami had directed all agencies and parastatals under his purview to submit their baseline short-term performance targets report. A Zambian female banker has been suspended for allegedly sleeping with over 200 men while promising them jobs, according to a report by the ZambianWatch. The woman identified as Mutale Winfridah, a branch senior executive of ZANACO bank, was suspended by bank management for sleeping with over 200 different men who were both clients and job seekers. The 39-year-old Winfridah, was suspended after more than 10 men formally lodged complaints against her, claiming she had used her influence as a branch senior bank executive to “enjoy their bed energies” after promising them jobs at the bank and approving their bank loan applications.…
