Diesel drivers, numbering 470,000, on Monday demanded compensation from Volkswagen over an emissions-rigging scandal in Germany’s first-ever class-action lawsuit. Presiding Judge, Michael Neef, said, as proceedings began in the Braunschweig Higher Regional Court, that the court deems the class action case admissible. An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on Monday ordered that a 21-year-old man, Innocent Ifunyachi, who allegedly drugged and defiled a 14-year-old girl, be remanded in Kirikiri prison. Magistrate Mrs B.O Osunsanmi, did not take the plea of the defendant but ordered the police to return the case file to the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice. A 32-year-old man, Francis  Joseph who stole an Apple Mac Book Laptop computer from a Church, during worship service, was yesterday sentenced to one year imprisonment by an Igbosere Magistrate Court for stealing.
