APC begins screening of Senate, Reps aspirants ahead of primaries

Imo Speaker Dr Chiji Collins on Saturday declared that the 26 legislators have decamped to the All Progressive Congress (APC). Of the 27 lawmakers, only the immediate past Deputy Speaker, Hon Okey Onyekanma is of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), The Nation learnt. The ward congresses of the Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held across the 192 Wards was marred with violence, shooting and absence of electoral officials. Gunmen who kidnapped wife of a Kaduna-based medical doctor, who was kidnapped with her two children last Saturday has been killed. The kidnappers did not stop there. After killing Mrs. Ataga and dumping her body at a location have asked her husband for N20 ransom to free his two children still with them.
