The Nigeria High Commission in Ottawa, Canada, on Tuesday said that it had suspended passport processing for Nigerians in different Canadian communities, to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The commission said in a statement made available to NAN in New York that the suspension was indefinite. The Lagos State Government may postpone the 2020 edition of its annual Greater Lagos Regatta and Festival, due to coronavirus infection. The state Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf, made the disclosure on Tuesday in Ikeja at a media briefing on the festival. National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Tuesday that the annual inflation in Nigeria rose for the sixth straight month to 12.20%, a near two-year high. Inflation stood at 12.20% in February, compared with 12.13% in the previous month. The Minister of Health in Nigeria, Osagie Ehanire, has announced the third case of Covid-19 (coronavirus) in the west African country on Tuesday. The case is that a Nigerian who returned to Lagos from the United Kingdom and developed symptoms during her 14-day self-isolation. She is clinically stable and is being treated at Infectious Disease Hospital, Lagos. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday visited the scene of the Abule Ado multiple explosions and immediately announced a N2 billion Emergency Relief Fund for the victims. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Office, on March 16, 2020, secured the conviction of 15 oil thieves and two Vessels before Justice Rilwan Aikawa of a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos.
