The coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) is likely to spread to all 36 states in Nigeria, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has warned. President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday evening described as “extremely horrifying,” the news of the death of 14 persons and injury to many from a fire incident at an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Ngala, Borno State. In a statement by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, President Buhari directed assistance should be given to victims of the incident. Lagos State Government has announced the discharge of five coronavirus patients taking the total of those discharged in the state to 90. A Nigerian doctor has died from Covid-19 after contracting coronavirus while managing a patient at his private clinic. The doctor was admitted to Lagos University Teaching Hospital on Monday and died on Wednesday, according to the hospital’s director Chris Bode. Mr Bode said the doctor was brought to the hospital with severe symptoms. The Islamic court of the al-Shabab militant group in Jubba region has killed six men who were accused of being government spy agents, according to pro-al-Shabab radio al-Furquaan. The six were accused of spying for both the federal government and regional states.
