The House of Representatives has asked the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, to ensure that all schools in Nigeria, public and private are fumigated before they are reopened. The Nigerian Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) says it insists it was forcefully evicted from the office accommodation offered to it by the Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC). NIDCOM Chairman, Abike Dabiri-Erewa at the weekend explained how the staff of the commission were forceful eviction from the accommodation by gun-trotting security operatives. Dabiri said those who carried out the eviction claimed that the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr Ali Pantami ordered them to do so. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 313 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Friday. The 313 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed cases to 7839. The NCDC also announced the discharge of 89 patients from isolation centers across the country with five new deaths reported. Chief Dr. Solomon Ogunji, Abia Commissioner for Environment is dead, an official statement on Sunday said. Ogunji was said to have died in the early hours of Sunday in Aba at the Abia State Teaching Hospital. He was said to have died after a brief illness associated with high blood pressure.
