The Borno Commissioner of Police, Mr Damian Chukwu, has threatened to dismiss any man of the command found guilty of misconduct.
Chukwu, made this disclosure while inaugurating ‘Change Begins with Me’ campaign in Maiduguri.

“The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has said that the Nigeria Police Force, would be repositioned to be accountable, responsive and reliable in the discharge of its duty.

“The need for effectiveness in the force is in line with the international best practices and also in tandem with the ‘Change Begins with Me’ of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“This is to emphasise that the police are your friends and they are accessible to the public.

“The Public Complaint Rapid Response Unit was established and charged with the responsibility of receiving complaints from the public and to ensure that the police are accountable to the Nigerian people.

“It also serves as a channel for redressing all grievances emanating from police action and inactions” He said

Also commenting was, Muhammad Bulama, the Borno Commissioner of Information, lauded the command for the initiative.

Muhammad said the State Government would support the police authority in the discharge of its statutory responsibilities.
