Burna Boy, the Grammy-winning Nigerian Afro-fusion star, has been announced as the headliner for the opening day of the 2026 Reggae Land Festival.

The performance, scheduled for July 31 at the Milton Keynes National Bowl, will mark the ‘Ye’ hitmaker’s debut at one of the United Kingdom’s largest reggae and dancehall festivals.

Organisers extended the event to three days after the original August 1–2 weekend dates sold out in record time.

Burna Boy will top the bill for this year’s festival, which was introduced in response to unprecedented ticket demand.

He joins an expanded lineup that includes Vybz Kartel, Shenseea, Beenie Man, Shaggy, Morgan Heritage, Tarrus Riley, Masicka, Christopher Martin, and Julian Marley.

The announcement comes on the heels of Burna Boy’s recent appearance at the inaugural FIFA World Cup final halftime show.

The 11-minute performance, held Sunday at the New York New Jersey Stadium, also featured Justin Bieber, Madonna, and South Korean boy band BTS.

Born Damini Ogulu, the Afro-fusion icon first burst onto the scene with ‘Like to Party’, the lead single from his debut album L.I.F.E (2013).

Since then, he has evolved into one of Africa’s most influential artistes, celebrated for his genre-defying sound and a string of hit albums that have dominated charts worldwide.

His albums include ‘L.I.F.E’ (2013), ‘On a Spaceship’ (2015), ‘Outside’ (2018), ‘African Giant’ (2019), ‘Twice As Tall‘ (2020), ‘Love, Damini‘ (2022), ‘I Told Them‘ (2023) and ‘No Sign of Weakness’ (2025).

Burna Boy, who holds the record for the most Grammy nominations by a Nigerian artiste with 13, won his first award — the ‘Best World Music Album’ category in 2021 for his project ‘Twice As Tall’.
