The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, will unveil the ‘School Protection Squad’ in Ogun State.
The project aims to improve and promote the safety and security of schools throughout the state.
According to a statement released late Monday by Omolola Odutola, spokeswoman for the Ogun State Police Command, the project will be launched during a two-day event titled “Capacity Building for Security Agencies and Other Stakeholders.”
The tournament runs from Tuesday to Wednesday.
The spokesperson stated that the event would offer stakeholders full information about the steps that the Nigeria Police Force has put in place to secure schools across the state.
She stated, “The program is designed to enlighten stakeholders about school safety and the proactive steps taken by the Nigeria Police Force to ensure every school in Ogun State is well protected.
“These include rapid response deployment, vehicular patrols, and orientation sessions on safer security practices for students, principals, and school partners.
“Sister security agencies, government bodies, traditional rulers, and representatives from the private sector will also be present, lending their support to ensure a grand opening.
“The public is encouraged to follow the proceedings live on the official police social media platforms from 10:00 am on 26th and 27th November 2024.”
She explained that attendees will be able to discuss, share information, and propose innovative ideas to improve the security of children in schools across the state.
