The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB) has closed its job application portal for hiring public primary school teachers after receiving 52,423 applications.

The portal was open from June 25, 2024, until July 9, 2024.

Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, the Executive Chairman of OYOSUBEB, in a statement seen by Chronicle NG on Thursday said the overwhelming response demonstrated a high level of interest in working with the board.

He explained that the portal had to be closed once the deadline passed.

He said, “We are impressed by this response, which shows that people are truly keen and excited to work with the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board. However, we are compelled to close the portal, as the deadline has passed.”

“We received not less than 52,423 submitted applications within the number of days of opening the portal. That was impressive.”

“After shutting the portal, our team has started sorting out the applications and picking the suitably qualified candidates, who will be contacted by the Board”,

He emphasized that Governor Seyi Makinde places great importance on the basic education sector and reassured applicants to be cautious of misinformation regarding the recruitment process. Applicants are advised to regularly check their emails and phones for updates.

The next stage of the recruitment process involves a Computer-Based Test (CBT). Details regarding the date, venue, and time for each candidate will be communicated via email and phone.

In another development, OYOSUBEB has called for collaboration with the Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board. This was highlighted during a visit by the Pension Board Chairman, Hon. Akeem Ige, to OYOSUBEB.

Adeniran stated that this partnership is crucial for streamlining the documentation process for retired primary school teachers and ensuring efficient performance.
