    President Muhammadu Buhari voted at polling unit 003, Sarkin Yara A, Kofar Baru, Daura, Katsina State, with his wife, Aisha, and other family members.

    According to news reports, the president and his wife arrived at the polling station around 9.57 a.m., to cheers from fellow voters.

    The president, who was accredited shortly after arriving at the unit, voted after being verified by Independent National Electoral Commission officials (INEC).

    • Election: Buhari presides over national security council meeting

    The president then showed his ballot paper to the crowd at the polling station, who insisted on seeing it, and he responded cheerfully.

     

    He urged all candidates to accept the election results as the electorate’s choice.
