Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known by his stage name Wizkid, is a Grammy-winning Afrobeats musician from Nigeria who will soon launch a jewelry collection.
Wizkid revealed that the first of six pieces his jewelry brand would be producing this year is his recently purchased multimillion naira diamond neckpiece.
The singer of “Essence” announced this while participating in the most recent episode of the Shopsydoo Adesope-hosted audiovisual podcast for Afrobeats.
Wizkid claimed to have created the item alone and noted that it marked the launch of his jewelry collection.
He said, “This [the neckpiece] is actually the first piece that I designed myself. This is the first of six pieces that I’m making this year. And yeah, the start of my jewelry line. So, it’s about to be some exciting stuff going on.”
The Starboy now joins the likes of American superstars Rihanna and Pharell Williams in the exclusive list of celebrities who owned jewelry lines.
