Roger Federer now has Croatian Marin Cilic as the final obstacle for his dream 8th Wimbledon crown on Sunday.

The Swiss ace beat Czech Tomas Berdych in three sets to book the final spot, while Cilic ended the fairy tale run of American Sam Querrey in four sets.

Two of Federer’s sets went into tie-break, with Federer triumphing 7-4. He however won the third set 6-4 after breaking Berdych early in the set.

For Cilic, it was a hard-earned victory over Querrey, who had promised another run to the final next year. Cilic won 6-7(6) 6-4 7-6(3) 7-5 over the resilient American in the first Semi-final.Querrey had ousted Andy Murray in the quarter finals.

“I feel very privileged to be in another final. I can’t believe it’s true”, said Federer, who will play his 11th Wimbledon final on Sunday. Federer achieved this without dropping a single set en-route.

Cilic too had played amazing tennis to reach the final, becoming the first Croatian since 2001, after Goran Ivanisevic to log the record.

“It’s unbelievable, especially the way this tournament unfolded. I was playing really great tennis from the first round”, tweeted Cilic.
