Rotimi Amaechi, Nigeria’s Transport Minister says Wike needs psychiatric test

Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, reckons that the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike needs psychiatric help for allegedly concocting lies concerning his involvement in the upcoming elections in Rivers.

Amaechi’s media office was reacting to Wike’s statement which he made at Etche Local Government Area on Wednesday claiming that Amaechi was planning to rig the December 10 rerun polls.

Wike also accused the leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, of handing over original copies of result sheets to Amaechi, towards an alleged plan to rig the poll.

The governor said that he was in possession of the proceedings of the Abuja “illegal” meeting of APC leaders.

He alleged that Amaechi assured the Rivers APC leaders at the Abuja meeting that the original result sheets supplied by the INEC would be used for the December 10 rerun elections to facilitate victory for the APC candidates.

“While we are working for the people of Rivers State to convince them to vote for us, the APC is busy working with the INEC to rig the rerun elections,” Wike claimed.

“On December 10, follow your results bumper to bumper. Don’t allow anyone to swap results. I urge the Etche people to follow their results,” he said.

In reaction to his claims, Amaechi media office described Wike’s allegations at “new wild, baseless allegations”, stressing that Wike is pathetic and needs psychiatric help.

“This new wild, baseless allegations by Governor Wike is a cheap ploy by a failing garrulous talkative to intimidate and harass INEC into doing his bidding and wipe up public sentiment against APC, its candidates for the elections and the President Buhari administration, ahead of the December 10, re-run elections in Rivers State.

“We know his game, this is an old worn out trick that will certainly fail. Wike is scared, profoundly afraid, this is why he is telling these spurious lies.

“He knows he will lose at the polls, if the election is free & fair.

“Amaechi has no business with any result sheets for the coming elections and has nothing to do with Sheriff or the self-imposed woes and travails of PDP.

“Honestly, Wike is a pathetic fellow who needs help, psychiatric help,” the statement.
