David Adeleke, better known by his stage as Davido, a well-known Nigerian Afrobeats singer, has disclosed why he decided not to include a tribute to his late son Ifeanyi Adeleke in his most recent album, “Timeless.”

Fans of the superstar had anticipated that the album will highlight the singer’s late son. Though, he opted to make the record more amusing.

Davido revealed that his intention was to make a classic album with few or no sad songs in order to prevent fans from becoming emotional about the loss of his kid. He made this statement on Monday during a press conference in advance of the upcoming ‘Timeless’ performance slated for April 23 in Lagos.

    • Davido: Timeless is first African album to top US iTunes chart

He said, ”People who have been following songs for years can attest to this. I have always been a happy person, regardless of what I may be going through.

”If sad songs are to come, it will be an entirely different project on its own as I never had plans of combining them.”
