The Snaresbrook Crown Court has stated that prominent Nigerian socialite and dancer Iweh Pascal Odinaka, also known as Poco Lee, will appear before the court on assault charges.
The London-based court verified this in exclusive correspondence to our correspondent on Tuesday.
PUNCH Online had written the court to inquire about the alleged sexual assault involving the celebrity on Monday.
In response, the court’s admin team lead, James Baker, acknowledged that the matter is official and that the case is slated for plea and trial preparation on September 15, 2026.
Baker also declined to provide a precise time and courtroom information for the hearing.
He wrote, “Official. Good afternoon. I can confirm that this case is currently listed at Snaresbrook Crown Court for plea and trial preparation on the 15th of September, 2026.
“Criminal court hearings are open to the public. Precise times and courtroom information will not be available until the day before the hearing. Many thanks.”
Chronicle NG reported on Monday that the founder of the community of Nigerians in the United Kingdom, Benjamin Kuti, aka Oluomo of Derby, said Poco Lee is currently in a UK prison and is scheduled to appear on trial on September 15, 2026, at exactly 10 am.
Kuti said he was privy to the development because he regularly attends court proceedings and supports Nigerians involved in legal matters in the UK.
“I can confirm that the reports are true. Poco Lee is currently on remand in a UK prison. His next court date is scheduled for the second week of September, when he is expected to have a plea hearing,” he said.
He stated that a plea hearing often involves the accused tendering a guilty or not-guilty plea.
Kuti also stated that he wanted to attend the proceedings to show his support for members of the Nigerian community in the UK.
His affirmation prompted a judicial probe, which confirmed that the socialite will appear in court to face the assault charge leveled against him.
