UEFA has launched an investigation into four Real Madrid players—Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior, Antonio Rüdiger, and Dani Ceballos—following their Champions League Round of 16 victory over Atlético Madrid.

The governing body is scrutinizing allegations of “indecent conduct” during the celebrations after Madrid’s dramatic win.

“A UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector has been appointed to investigate allegations of indecent conduct by Real Madrid CF players,” UEFA confirmed in an official statement.

According to Spanish media reports, the investigation focuses on how Madrid’s players celebrated their penalty shootout triumph at Atlético’s Metropolitano Stadium on March 12.

Madrid secured their place in the quarter-finals after a 2-2 aggregate draw, winning on penalties. However, the match ended in controversy when Atlético’s Julián Álvarez had a penalty disallowed for allegedly making double contact with the ball during his attempt.

Neither UEFA nor Real Madrid has responded to requests for comment regarding the ongoing investigation.

The potential sanctions could impact the Spanish giants ahead of their quarter-final first-leg clash against Arsenal on April 8.
