US President Donald Trump is reportedly considering granting clemency to music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs as part of a new round of potential presidential pardons.
According to CBS News, Trump is expected to pardon several people convicted of emissions and clean-air-related offences. The report also said the president is reviewing clemency requests involving Combs and other high-profile individuals before making a final decision.
Trump is reportedly due to meet with advisers to discuss the recommendations before announcing any pardons.
Among those also seeking clemency is Prakazrel “Pras” Michel of the hip-hop group The Fugees. The Grammy Award-winning rapper is serving a 14-year federal prison sentence after being convicted of conspiring with Malaysian financier Jho Low in a scheme to influence the US government through foreign lobbying campaigns under two presidential administrations.
Combs faced trial in 2025 over allegations that he abused and coerced three accusers, including his former partner, Cassie Ventura. Prosecutors also accused him of offences including kidnapping, arson and blackmail.
In July 2025, a New York jury delivered a split verdict, convicting Combs on charges of transportation to engage in prostitution while acquitting him of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
The Bad Boy Records founder also faces multiple civil lawsuits alleging sexual abuse involving 120 women and men, including claims concerning a nine-year-old boy. Those civil cases remain separate from the criminal proceedings.
Combs was arrested in Manhattan on September 16, 2024, after federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York secured an indictment against him.
CBS News reported that Trump had previously declined to grant Combs a presidential pardon in January after his legal team sought clemency.
As of press time, the White House had not confirmed whether Trump would grant Combs a presidential pardon.
