Seven female students from Federal University Gusau in Zamfara State and three construction workers who were kidnapped by bandits last Friday have been freed by troops of Operation Hadarin Daji.

Chronicle NG was informed by a senior military source that during the military rescue efforts, ten more people—three of them were laborers—escaped from captivity.

Thirteen students and three construction workers who were working on university projects have regained their freedom thus far as a result of the Joint Task Force of Operation Hadarin Daji‘s “prompt response” from the land and air components of the military.

Some made it to the school authorities, while others were intercepted by the military, the insider claimed.

The identities of the 13 rescued students were disclosed as follows: Merry Monday, a 300-level microbiology student; Maryam Salawuddeen, a 300-level accounting student; and Rukayya Sani Batola, an education chemistry 200-level student (200 Level).

Mariya Abdulrahman Usman of English (400 level), Usaina Abdulrahman of English (100 level), Aisha Aminu Ujong of Education Physics (Graduated), and Sa’adatu Aminu Abubakar of Education Biology were the others.

The three workmen who were rescued by GUPRAN Engineering Services Ltd. are identified as Mustapha Abdullahi, Kamalu Shuaibu, and Ishaq Idris.

Prior to this, Chronicle NG had been informed by sources that the bandits divided into multiple groups, with the goal of transferring part of the abducted students to a forest in Niger State and others to the Magami axis, where they confronted military forces stationed nearby.
