President Bola Tinubu returned to Abuja after an 18-day business tour and retreat in France and London.

The presidential 001 aircraft carrying the president landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja around 9:50 p.m. on Monday, according to the State House media office.

Tinubu was welcomed by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, among others.

Tinubu left Nigeria on Wednesday, April 2, and spent some time in Paris, France, before supposedly travelling to London two weekends ago.

During his absence, Tinubu stayed in touch with key government officials and directed security chiefs to address emerging threats in some states.

In Paris, he met with the US Department of State’s Senior Advisor for Africa, Mr Massad Boulos.

Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, revealed that the discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The summit focused on concerted efforts to establish long-term peace in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, with an emphasis on multilateral collaboration and the involvement of regional stakeholders.

Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, was also among those that received the president.
