Garus Gololo, coordinator of the Benue State chapter of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), has stated that fuel prices in the country will not go down anytime soon because of the “selfish” interest of President Bola Tinubu.

Gololo, in an interview on ATP News, alleged that Tinubu owns several investments in the oil and gas sector, which influences his decisions in the industry for “selfish gains.”

According to Gololo, Tinubu’s company, Agip oil, owns 17 oil wells in the Niger-Delta region, and he also owns a refinery in Malta, managed by his sons.

Speaking on the call for the reduction of the pump price of fuel, Gololo, who spoke in Hausa, said, “Those who want the price of fuel to be reduced, it will not be reduced because the president owns Oando and has bought Agip.

“Agip has 17 oil wells in the Niger Delta that I know of, and he has a refinery that Wale Tinubu and Kunle Tinubu Jr. run in Malta. Not even Nigeria, in Malta.

“The Malta refinery is their personal refinery.”

He added that the president and his family take crude oil from Nigeria to refine in Malta before bringing the refined produce back into the country to sell.

“When they take crude oil from Nigeria, they will refine it there, bring it back, and sell it to us.”

“This automatically means the price of fuel will not drop,” Gololo said.
