President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 persons to the boards and management of 10 federal government agencies and commissions.

The appointments, announced in a statement on Monday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, take immediate effect.

Among the appointees is Ayo Fayose, former governor of Ekiti State, who was named chairman of the board of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).

Fayose will head the REA board alongside Ahmadu Abubakar and Ilyasu Makinta as members and non-executive directors.

Abba Aliyu, the agency’s director-general, and three previously appointed executive directors will also serve on the board.

Tinubu also appointed Junaid Bindawa, a retired major general, as chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC).

Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, a former member of the House of Representatives, was named secretary of the commission.

Other appointments to the commission are Ogbole Lilian (Benue), Oladele Olatubosun (Oyo), Yakubu Barde (Kaduna), Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Tor (Enugu), Lawrence Okoh (Edo), and Bello Iyabode (Kogi).

Tosin Adeyanju, who was previously appointed Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), has been redeployed as secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

The President also appointed Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission (NPC), Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET) Plc, and Anthony Godwin as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission (NAEC).

Julius Oloro was appointed CEO of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), replacing A.R. Kamal, who died in January.

Tinubu also constituted the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC), appointing Abdullahi Saidu as chairman.

Other members of the board are Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Makama, Suleiman Gidado, Louis Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele, and Olaniyi Onikola.

Shuni Dahiru was appointed Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education (NMEC), replacing Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, who was reassigned to the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) in April.

The President also appointed Gisaor Iorja, an economist and Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC), as Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), replacing Mathias Byuan, who resigned to pursue his Benue governorship ambition.
