Nigerians react as lady dreamt Arsenal would win Premier League on last day

Mixed reactions have trailed the dream by a social media influencer, suggesting Arsenal would emerge as the winner of the 2023–2024 Premier League season.

According to a statement made by Ifeoluwani on X on December 4, 2023, she noted that Premier League giant Manchester City would lose their last game at the Etihad while Arsenal would win theirs.

“I said it earlier in an Arsenal group at the start of the season that I dreamt Arsenal were 2 points behind City before the final game of the season. Then City lost their match while we had a last-minute header from Gabriel to win us our last game and the League title,” Ifeoluwani’s statement reads.

Man City tops the log with 82 points, while Arsenal follow closely with 81 points.

The Premier League ends on Sunday. City hosts West Ham while second-placed Arsenal lock horns with Everton at the Emirate.

Reacting to Ifeoluwa’s dream, Daniel Regha, a social media critic, argued that “football is unpredictable, but the chance of Manchester City losing their last match when close to winning the Premier League title is almost impossible.

“Unless there’s poor officiating, City players would give their all to ensure they win. Again, dreams aren’t facts and can have different interpretations.”

An X user, simply identified as UG Agila, stated in his reaction, “I have a better chance of becoming the King of England than Arsenal winning the league this season.

“It’s City at home to West Ham with the league title on the line; there’s no way they’re blowing it.”

“One thing about football is that it’s 50 percent unpredictable and 50 percent predictable; we know how money politics is playing out in the English Premier League, which few or more are aware of, so with this, anything can happen; City can lose or win; likewise, Arsenal,” Dada Soul mentioned.

For Adetidayo, he mentioned that “the problem is you are not applying statistics. Forget Arsenal and focus on Manchester City’s opponent on Sunday, which is West Ham.

“West Ham Defence is as leaky as a 50-year-old roof. It’s a matter of how many goals the city will score. City will win.”

However, Keo Ibobo notes that Manchester City can lose their last match. Their defensive line is always bad, and West Ham has fast attackers like Kudus, Bowen, and Antoni, who’s also a bully, then free-kick specialist JWP. Arsenal can still make it; it’s all until the final whistle.”
