Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the governor of Ondo State and the All Progressives Congress’ governorship candidate, has voted at his polling station in Igbo Ward 4, Obenla village, Ilaje Local Government Area.

Aiyedatiwa, accompanied by security aides, arrived at his voting station around 8:46 a.m. and voted exactly at 8:50 a.m., to the shouts of his relatives.

The elections in the state kicked off early in many polling units, with many voters eager to cast their ballots.

    • #OndoDecides2024: INEC distributes sensitive election materials to polling units

Chronicle NG reports that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday morning started the distribution of materials to various units at the Registration Area Centre in Anglican Primary School in the Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State.

On the ground to collect their electoral materials were Polling Unit Officers and National Youth Service Corps members.

Police operatives accompanied the materials and officials to their respective polling centres.

An INEC official told reporters that the idea is to ensure that the election started as scheduled, noting that it is the only way the process can go on without delay.

The official said, “We started the distribution of materials on time, and our polling unit officers left early. Hopefully, the election can start as scheduled. No room for delay.”
