Nigerians are agog with the news of the arrest of controversial Nigerian cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly called Bobrisky.

Chronicle NG reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested and detained the cross-dresser over abuse of naira, spraying of naira notes, and currency mutilation.

Confirming the development on Thursday, the spokesperson for the EFCC, Dele Oyewale, noted that Bobrisky would be charged in court.

“Bobrisky is with us. He was arrested last night in Lagos, and he is at our Lagos command. We arrested him for alleged abuse of naira notes, spraying naira notes, and currency mutilation, among others.”

The arrest of the self-acclaimed mommy of Lagos has Nigerians in a happy mood, with many calling for immediate prosecution.

Aduolu Michael described the arrest of the ‘mommy of Lagos’ as the “best news” in Nigeria.

“This is the best news so far,” Aduolu Michael stated.

While Wisdom Ekong notes that “Bobrisky is a bad influence on young people,” Richey urged the Federal Government to stop tolerating such nuisance in society.

” Arrest him and throw away the keys.
That will send a message to the cross-dressers and LGBTQ community in Nigeria. We won’t tolerate it in our society,” Richey says.

Ufezime Nelson Obi urged the authorities to prosecute Bobrisky, not only for naira mutilation but also for allegedly practicing homosexuality.

“This is good news, and Bobrisky should also be sent to prison for practicing homosexuality in Nigeria and sending a wrong signal to our youths out there who are already imitating him and the society at large,” Obi said.

In his response, Tessi notes that the “public display of nuisance” in society by the cross-dresser has been endured for too long.

“EFCC reportedly arresting Bobrisky over alleged Naira abuse is not surprising; this is one of the various petitions he is going to answer for, not to mention different public displays of nuisance,” Tessi said.

“Bobrisky better get a good lawyer and enough money because he might end up in jail,” Tessi added.

Bobrisky has recently been engulfed in a war of words with controversial Nigerian singer Potable.

The beef between the two led Portable to release a diss track titled “Brotherhood,” a song in which he reminded the alleged transgender that he’ll always be a brother (a male), as against the female gender he claims to have become.
